Riceland Continues Development Milestones and New Community Enhancements Riceland Roundup Community Event – March 29

HOUSTON (March 25, 2025) – Houston-based developers, McGrath Real Estate Partners, marks new milestones in the ongoing development of Riceland, the 1,500-acre master-planned community in Mont Belvieu, Texas. Phase II is underway, providing 311 new home sites over 138 acres with various amenities. Recent milestones include the completion of Sweet Gum Park, construction permitting for the Lakehouse Amenity Center, The Square, and the Mill House, the final infrastructure phase of the Town Center, as well as the start of new model home construction.

Riceland will hold its first Riceland Roundup community event opening for the public on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. with food, games, and live music. Guests will tour nine model homes by Chesmar Homes, Highland Homes, David Weekley, and Perry Homes, with three new model homes by Chesmar Homes, Highland Homes, and Perry Homes currently under construction.

Phase II of Riceland includes the completion of Sweet Gum Park, which features a playground and walking trails that link the community, further enhancing the outdoor lifestyle central to Riceland’s design. The Lakehouse Amenity Center is under construction and will be located on Eagle Lake, Riceland’s 10-acre stocked pond that is home to more than 55,000 fish, further supporting the community’s vision of outdoor recreation.

Another highly anticipated addition in Phase II is the introduction of 80-foot lots fronting Eagle Point Golf Course, offered by Perry Homes. This exclusive collection of homesites provides residents with premium views and direct access to one of the area’s premier golf courses.

Development of The Square, a key focal point within Riceland, is also underway. Featuring a canal-side trail system that connects to Eagle Point Golf Course, The Square is designed to foster a true community lifestyle. The surrounding Alley Homes offer a unique residential design that prioritizes front-porch living and enhanced landscaping, creating a vibrant, town-like atmosphere within Riceland.

The Riceland Town Center is entering its final infrastructure phase, including the completion of Main Street and the parking lot for Mont Belvieu City Hall. Retail leasing is currently underway, bringing new shopping, dining, and business opportunities to the community.

The Riceland Town Center incorporates Mont Belvieu City Hall and the newly opened Fire Station and serves as the community city center of activity with a dedicated public green space area and new commercial developments planned, including the 16,956 SF Mill House blending curated retail, dining, and office spaces.  

Riceland, located 32 miles east of Houston along the Grand Parkway north of Interstate 10, is one of the largest suburban mixed-use developments in the area. At full build-out, it will include 4,500 homes and 30 miles of trails, catering to the outdoor lifestyle sought by local residents. An extensive list of amenities includes a 10-acre stocked lake, resort-style pools, multiple parks, and a central Town Center plaza.
